I cant decide between a bright teal or cobalt blue. or a bright red. with chocolate and black which do you think is the best accent color and why?

I think cobalt blue would give you a pleasant contrast color. It's a dramatic color but won't overpower. I think it would be better than the red sometimes red looks good but doesn't harmonize with a lot of moods. Teal would be my second choice it would harmonize well but not quite the standout that the blue would be. Hope you enjoy your new space, and that this helped!

Why settle with one color? As long as you dont over-accessorise, you can go with several colors. You seem to be drawn to the blues, but why not add a little yellow and/or orange or a bright green to it? You dont want your colors to be drab so find something playful. look at the carpet under the table in the picture and you will see that several colors will work.

Dont be afraid to express yourself through the addition of color. look at the color and see how they make you feel. Do you have a picture on the wall that you can pull some colors from for coordination?

I have earth tones in my home but did throw in a spanish red wall, while the others are a dusty yellow. I also threw a lime green lap blanket over the back of the couch. it adds color and gives the room a fun, comforting feeling. Have fun with it.
