I recently bought a new microfiber sofa only to find that its a pet hair magnet!!!! The hair actually STICKS to it! plus its hunter green, so the hair really shows! I've tried vacuming but it doesnt get it all and it takes forever!!! Does anyone know of something that will take it off quickly and easily??? Thanx!
There are fabric brush rollers you can buy but an easy way is duct tape. Just rip off enough to make a ring w/sticky side out and slip it over your hand. Once one area of the tape is full just turn the ring to a fresh spot.
wrap sticky tape around your open hand. (Selotape or similar) sticky side to the outside. then just dab it on top of the part where the hair is. as they say. ' it sticks like glue.'
Remove the contaminated sticky tape from your hand and dispose of it.
I know your problem our 3 dogs just finished moulting. The best way we have found is to use a damp sponge, and push hair to edge and vacuum off.Not a wet sponge, just damp.you can also buy a pet hair roller brush from pet shop.It is fairly easy to do, but does take effort.
smittybo20 stole my answer,LOL! Duct tape really does work wonders! you can buy lint rollers, too, with sticky adhesive on them.
Vaccum your sofa and spray it with static guard or rub some dryer sheets all over it.. The sofa will or should de-static and it won't be quite as bad.. also, if you brush/groom your animals more often the hair won't be as bad ! I vacuum my sofa about once a week and I have a long haired dog. Or if you have a shopvac use that on your sofa it's bigger and more powerful than the reg. vac w. attachements.... good luck
what about a stiff wire brush (like for pet grooming) brush it against the grain and then vacuum it up.
Follow it up rub a couple fabric softener sheets over it to give it a anti static so that pet hair won't stay.
The best way to remove pet hair from microfiber sofa?
