We reserved a 26 foot Diesel Class C RV for a vacation in September from a RV Sales/Rental company. We reserved this is February, I went on their website today and they no longer have that Diesel RV available. They have a 22 foot Class C Diesel but it is small and does not have a full bed in it, it only has a bunk bed and a sofa sleeper, it would be too small for our family of 5. They have a 38 foot Class A RV that is a Diesel that has the full bed and would accommodate our family. the price of our rental is $300 more than the price of the 22 foot and $400 less than the 38 foot. which do you think they will substitute? Diesel RV rental was at a higher rate and deposit than the non-diesel RVs, they do have a 26 foot RV available but it is not a Diesel engine. here are the terms of the rental contract for availability:
"if for any reason beyond our control the reserved vehicle is not available at pick-up, we will substitute a vehicle of equivalent value or higher rated vehicle at no additional cost. We make no guarantee that a specific model year will be available at the time of contract. if a lower rated vehicle is offered and accepted, our responsibility is limited to refund the difference between the vehicles."
I called the RV company about it and they said someone would call me back next week to discuss the issue. I am curious what others think they will do. I do not feel we should have to take the smaller RV due to the fact that we reserved the larger one with a full bed for the extra room for our family, we also reserved a Diesel because it gets far better gas mileage! Opinions, please?
Reserved RV is not available for Sept trip, What should they substitute?
