My sofas are just over a year old, and both have developed a sticky residue although I am unsure why. it is almost impossible to sit on them as you find yourself stuck to them. I have tried mild detergent but nothing else
try a soft cloth with warm soapy water, then dry with another cloth like a duster.
try eucalptus oil on a soft cloth that even gets off chewing gum.if not sure try on blind spot on the sofa.
can get aspray from tesco for cleaning leather it really works and is not expensive ive got a 4 yr old so i know
I always find baby wipes get rid of anything !
First of all I would call the company and ask why this is happening. if its just sticky you can clean it with any leather cleaner. wipe it down with baby oil, WD 40...
dont see why detergent didnt work
get in touch with the store you bought them from
I've always had leather sofas but never had this problem
Isn't there a special leather cleaner avaliable for sofas to keep them clean and healthy looking.
You can clean a leather sofa with watered down, mild, non-biological washing powder and a cotton cloth, dabbing gently in circle motions, it will make it smell nice too, afterwards apply a soft saddle soap.
Try Goo gone. the stuff is amazing.
get some throws place them over the sticky stuff and hay presto all gone.
dilute white vinegar and water.....wipe off with a cloth
it doesnt matter what you put on your sofas, you will stick to them regardless, especialy in shorts or other "skin revealing" clothing.
Try an ordinary bar of toilet soap and a flannel. Rinse gently with warm water.
you can buy special leather cleaning wipes
just dont ave sex on the setee
I had sticky residue on a wood effect floor, and was worried about using anything other than water on it.
I used baby oil, and it worked a treat. A tiny drop on a kitchen towel, and the residue came off easily. I then just wiped over the floor with a damp cloth.
Try it on a bit of leather at the back first though to make sure that it won't damage the leather.
Id say call the company you bought them from, they should still be under guarentee. Dont try to sort it out your self, it could go alot worse. Good luck. Urggggg, sounds horrid too.
